Ted's Tales:

The Devil May Care
A Monologue
by Ted

"Yes, yes, I get it! I get it, Wanda! You're leaving me. And I don't give a shit!

"As Rhett said in your favorite movie, 'Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn!'

"Of course I understand that you're pissed at me. I'd be pissed off too!

"Yes, you caught me fucking Freddy. I admit it. Know what? He had just finished fucking me, too.

"Of course I'll admit it in court, if you are stupid enough to take it to court. Guys fucking is not a crime any more, in case you hadn't noticed. And I'm not married to you.

"Why Freddy, of all people, you ask? Because Freddy and I have been fuck buddies since we were kids. We've always loved each other. That's why Freddy. Why the fuck do you think I suggested we take him in as a boarder?

"Freddy and I fuck each other every time you are out of the house. But did you really have to call him a cock-sucking faggot?

"Of course that's why I've hardly touched you for the last two years. Freddy always was a far better fuck than you, and with him right here, why should I want to fuck a dead fish like you?

"Don't you raise your hand to me! You hit me and I'll hit you back, twice as hard.

"Yes, I would hit a woman. I never did swallow that 'gentler sex' crap. You gals can be as tough as nails when you like.

"Quit throwing things!

"No, I won't cover up. It's my dick and I'm proud of it. You've seen it plenty of times before. And you've been whining you don't see it enough lately.

"Yes, I am a bastard. I really am, too. My mom and dad didn't marry till I was five. I got to be the ring bearer.

"I don't give a fuck what your parents will say. They've never liked me anyway. Did you know you Dad hired a private detective to follow me round when we started going together?

"You don't believe me? Ask him. Only problem was, the guy he hired was an old fuck-buddy of mine. We had a great laugh over that. We sat down and invented surveillance reports together. We even made up one where I was approached by a male prostitute and had him arrested. Your father swallowed the stories hook line and sinker.

"No, I'm not ungrateful to your father. I have nothing to be grateful to him for.

"Don't be dense. He didn't buy this house for us. He co-signed the mortgage for me and lent me part of the down-payment. I've paid him back. The house is in my name, not his name and my name, not your name and my name, just my name.

"When your mom keeps saying she would like to see you married, she doesn't mean to me. She's secretly glad we decided to live together rather than marry.

"I know what my parents will say. My parents have always known. They also knew that this wouldn't work.

"Yes, I'm glad we didn't have a child, too. It would have tied me to you too much, given you a hold over me.

"Stop gloating that I will never have children. There are options open to gay men these days - adoption, surrogacy ...

"I don't suppose you'd consider being a surrogate mother for me and Freddy?

"Stop screaming at me! I was joking! You'd be the last person I'd want for a surrogate.

"No, I don't care what your girlfriends will think, either. Them and their stuffy husbands!

"Don't give me that 'At least they're real men' stuff! More than one of those so-called 'real men' have sucked my dick! And I've sucked theirs.

"No, I'm not going to tell you which ones. I'll leave you always guessing and wondering. Whenever you're out with your friends, you'll be wondering 'Is this one a secret faggot?' Have fun!

"And if you try to warn your girlfriends, you may destroy some perfectly good marriages.

"Yes, we've already agreed I'm a real bastard.

"No, you're not going to take me for anything, let alone everything. Don't you remember those agreements your father insisted we sign when we moved in together? Sort of pre-nupts without the nuptials? He wanted to protect you from me. But it works both ways. You get what is yours, what you bought. I get what's mine, what I bought. We split what is ours.

"You always kept your salary, bought your own clothes, and some of the furniture. I kept mine - and bought the house with it. You put nothing into it.

"No, you can't claim you earned it. I have always done more of the housework and cooking than you have. You were a lazy, spoiled brat!

"Why should you be surprised I never tried to fuck you in the ass? If I wanted to fuck ass, I've had real man-ass to fuck. Freddy's always been round for me.

"Yes, I know I always I said I like your tits. I wasn't lying. They are rather flat tits. They are more like young man's tits, not great udders like some women.

"Hey, don't smash anything else. That was my favorite lamp. And I just paid 700 bucks for the flat screen TV. Smash stuff you bought!

"If you are going to smash my stuff, I'll start smashing yours. How about your iPad?

"No? Then calm down and be reasonable. You want to leave, leave. But leave my stuff alone.

"You can get your stuff whenever you like. As long as I'm in the house when you do so.

"I'm not rifling your purse. I don't want your money, just your house key. Yes, I know the car is yours, not ours or mine. You bought it, you keep it. I just wanted the house key.

"No, i wasn't lying to you about where I went every Wednesday night. I really did go to the gym. The gay gym, off Davie Street!

"Yes, of course I went there for sex. Usually got some in the steam room or the showers, too.

"Go! Go! You've been saying that for the last half hour.

"Did I ever really love you? Yes, I think I did, but part of me always knew I loved men men, too. But I really did love you - once.

"No, I'm not saying that to talk you into staying. Why would I want you to stay? I said did love you, not do love you. I just want you gone.

"You'll never speak to me again? Good! Do you think I'll care? The devil may care; fucked if I will!"

"AND DON'T SLAM THE DOOR BEHIND YOU!"

"Bitch!"

"Freddy! You're back!

"You saw her leave?

"No, you don't have to get your things. You don't have to move out. She's gone. For good!

"Want to pick up where we left off when she interrupted us?

"Come suck on this for me.

Ah, that's so good. You know just what I like.

""Freddy . . . what do you think about getting married?"
